For our 2024 annual international fundraising trip, the Grassland Bird Trust embarked on an adventure to the southern Colombian Andes—a place we’ve affectionately dubbed “hummingbird heaven.”
Colombia is home to more than 2,000 bird species, making it the most avian-diverse country in the world. There, we saw how “Family Projects” on private lands are protecting biodiversity, supporting local families, and creating amazing experiences for visitors.
While the birds are the main focus, our trips are always about more than just the wildlife. They are a full immersion into the culture, people, and cuisine of the region, all enhanced by the knowledge, expertise, and passion of our local guide.
